What does Terrible Excuse Generator create?

This generator prepares one immediate excuse and two bounded alternatives for a character caught somewhere, doing something or carrying something suspicious. Review a truthful fragment, supporting detail, delivery cue, obvious weakness, likely follow-up, optional player prompt and safe exit against the established scene.

What information can I add?

Enter speaker, observer, location, observed situation, visible evidence, relationship and protected facts. Deep preparation adds urgency, a truthful fragment, available prop, prior suspicion, power imbalance, cultural context, desired exit, forbidden claims and private notes. Quick mode retains Deep details already entered. Context, quality, delivery and evidence pressure label the result rather than rewrite its lines.

How do locks, rerolls and edits work?

A reroll refreshes all unlocked sections, not only its named layer, while retaining source context. Full generation ignores locks. Use structured editing and undo, then compare the separate player view: rerolls can produce fresh passages and direct edits do not refresh that view.

Can I save excuses and reopen them?

Save to your signed-in VISINVOKE account with title, tags and notes. Search, rename, duplicate or delete saved excuses. Saving the same result keeps up to twelve previous versions; generation and rerolls create new result identifiers. Reopening restores result, title, tags and notes without refilling inputs or restoring locks. There is no file import.

What should I review before sharing?

Copy or download the selected view as JSON, or print it. The player view includes source context, protected facts, excuse lines, truthful fragment and forbidden claims, so review every passage for spoilers and consistency. Hidden DM context and pressure notes are omitted. Truth, belief, rolls, reactions, consequences and every spoken line remain with the table.
